This lightweight helmet combines advanced technology and innovative design, drawing inspiration from Alpinestars' adult helmet range to provide an exceptional balance of performance, protection, and comfort.
Crafted with a thermo-injected shell made from a specialized polymer blend, the SM3 Youth Helmet features varying thicknesses that optimize impact protection while maintaining a lightweight profile, weighing in at just 1060g. Available in three sizes—Youth Small, Youth Medium, and Youth Large—the helmet's fit can be customized using interchangeable crown and cheek pads, allowing for adjustments as your child grows. The Youth Small is specifically designed for younger riders aged 3 to 4 years, ensuring a snug and secure fit.
Safety is paramount, and the SM3 Youth Helmet is equipped with a multi-density inner liner that enhances impact absorption and minimizes the effects of oblique impacts. Alpinestars' patented low friction coating on the EPS liner acts as a slip plane, mimicking the brain's natural defense against rotational forces during impacts. The helmet also features a patented visor release system that mitigates neck strain during accidents.
Ventilation is maximized with 10 inlets and seven exhaust ports, ensuring optimal airflow and heat exchange, while the visor is designed to channel air directly into the ventilation system. The comfort liner, made from recycled materials, not only reduces the carbon footprint but also enhances rider comfort, complemented by a soft 25mm textile chin strap and stainless steel D-rings for a secure fit.
For added convenience, hydration tube channels are integrated into the cheek pads, and the helmet includes an Emergency Release System for safe removal while still worn. Alpinestars has set a new in-house standard for chin impact testing, ensuring superior performance in this critical area.
